This Privacy Policy describes how TERA collects, uses, processes, and protects the personal information of our Delivery Partners (riders/drivers) when you use the TERA Delivery Partner App and our services.
By signing up as a TERA Delivery Partner and using our app, you acknowledge and agree to the collection and use of your data as outlined in this policy.
Information We Collect
- •Personal Identification Information: Name, phone number, email address, profile photo, and government-issued ID (such as Aadhaar, PAN card, or Driver's License).
- •Vehicle and Background Information: Vehicle registration details, insurance, driving history, and results from background checks (where applicable).
- •Location Data: Precise geographical location tracking is required while you are on duty. This is essential for matching you with orders, tracking delivery progress, and ensuring safety.
- •Financial Information: Bank account details, UPI ID, or other payment routing details necessary to process your earnings and incentives.
- •Device Information: Device type, operating system version, app usage analytics, and IP address to ensure app stability and fraud prevention.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following primary purposes:
- •Service Provisioning: Assigning deliveries, providing route guidance, and facilitating communication between you, customers, and our support team.
- •Earnings and Payouts: Calculating your distance traveled, active hours, and processing your weekly/daily payments to your bank account.
- •Safety and Security: Verifying your identity, enabling background checks to protect our community, and monitoring anomalous behavior to prevent fraud.
- •App Improvement: Analyzing usage data and errors to fix bugs and improve the app's performance and driver experience.
Location Tracking Disclosure
We collect precise location data (such as GPS coordinates) from your device when you grant permission to the app. Because the core nature of a delivery service relies on knowing where you are, the TERA Delivery App collects your location data when the app is running in the foreground or background (while you are marked as "Active" or "Online").
We only track location background data when you are actively on shift to ensure seamless pairing with nearby orders and to provide accurate ETA updates to customers. Background location tracking is automatically paused when you explicitly go "Offline" or log out of the application.
Data Retention
We retain your personal and location data only for as long as necessary to provide delivery services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and enforce agreements. Location data collected during active deliveries may be stored as part of order history and operational records.
Data Sharing and Disclosure
We respect your privacy and only share your data in the following necessary circumstances:
- •With Customers: We share your first name, photo, and live location with the customer while you are actively fulfilling their specific order to establish trust and transparency.
- •With Third-Party Service Providers: We may share data with partners who conduct background checks, process payments, or provide mapping APIs. They are obligated to protect your data.
- •For Legal Obligations: If required by law enforcement or governmental agencies for regulatory compliance, we may disclose your information.
